Rev Margot Connor
Margot is a retired Disciples of Christ minister and a spiritual director. She is the mother of Kacey Powell, Marnie Schultz and Audrey Connor and has five grandchildren. She lives in north Columbus.
My husband, Chad and I have been married for 9 years and we have a 4-year-old son named Corbin. We have lived in Canal Winchester for 7 years and love it. This is my first position in ministry however, I have an extensive background in business administration. As a family, we are extremely involved in our own home church. I am so grateful God chose me for this position, I know it is both a growing opportunity in my faith, his kingdom and my career. I enjoy cooking, sitting by a fire and gathering with those I love.
It's been Becky's pleasure to work at GRCC for over 12 years. It's been exciting for her to see the church grow, in both membership and in new pathways to serve. This church is Becky's extended family.
Social Media Associate
Megan Hysell loves God and loves to connect with people. She enjoys her role as Social Media Associate and as a member of the GRCC worship team. In her day job, she works for Nationwide Children’s Hospital as the key facilitator for the Communicate with Me program where she teaches employees to communicate well with one another. Megan has a 9 year old daughter, Sonnie, who is the joy of her life. Their 3 year old puggle, Stella, is equal parts sweetness and insanity.
Daniel Jimoh Olawunmi was born in Nigeria and raised in the Muslim tradition. To pronounce Daniel's last name, think "allowin' me." In Daniel's teen years, he found an undeserved love from the lord Jesus Christ, who loves all people so much and gave his own life for all. Jesus allows us to enjoy evaluating life. That love drew Daniel to Christianity and was at the heart of his decision to convert and follow Jesus. GRCC is Daniel's home church and part of his family. He has now become a Ministerial Intern to officially follow his calling from God and improve his knowledge of the word of God and as a preacher. To quote Daniel, "IT HAS BEEN A GREAT TIME WITH MY GENDER ROAD FAMILY CHURCH. SHALOM."
Hannah is from Worthington, Ohio and grew up the daughter of a Disciples of Christ minister. Since high school she has recognized her call to ministry and is currently in her second year at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, working on obtaining her Master of Divinity. Hannah did not come to GRCC until August of 2020, but since starting as a ministerial intern, she's been welcomed here by all and is grateful to get the opportunity to learn from the amazing people.
Worship Team Leader
Alex joined Gender Road Christian Church in 2018 as the Praise Team Leader, after 6 years of playing lead guitar for Bexley United Methodist Church. Alex has played guitar since 14, and has led bands for over 15 years. His style is founded in blues improvisation, with a healthy dose of rock, jazz, funk, and reggae. Music played an “instrumental” role in the development of Alex’s faith, and he loves the way Praise Music brings people closer to God.
Handbell Choir Director
Carol has been organist for GRCC for at least 13 years. She finds it wonderful to have such a great choir to accompany. "The melodies are with you all week long." Carol appreciates the support that GRCC gives to choir members.
Born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Becky is the daughter of a Disciples of Christ pastor. She enjoyed a 30 year career in public libraries. Becky's been very active in the church, particularly in music and finances. Her hobbies include reading, walking and spending time with friends.
